Review: How to Kill Your Best Friend - Lexie Elliott - September 2021

Three friends met in college - Lissa, Georgie, and Bronwyn - the girls were super close especially Lissa and Georgie. Years have passed and now Lissa is dead, this has surprised Georgie as first Lissa's first husband died years ago and now Lissa had remarried and seemed happy with her new husband. If anything, Georgie would have seen Lissa doing the killing not being the one killed. Georgie learns that Lissa was swimming and drowned, but no body has been found. This strikes Georgie as strange as Lissa was a championship swimmer and drowning is not a way she would go. While Georgie is celebrating Lissa's wake, she receives a strange email from Lissa and then a note that says "follow the money". With all this evidence, it looks like Lissa's death was a murder. When signs start to point though to Bronwyn, it looks like someone is setting her up for Lissa's murder and this sparks Georgie to discover and realize the truth, that something more sinister is at play and goes all way back to the death of Graham - Lissa's first husband and if Georgie isn't careful, just like in their past lives - she might find herself caught up tight in another of Lissa's manic schemes as the truth was you did not want to cross Lissa as her revenge was crazy and could be deadly. This book had a theme of I know what you did last summer feel to it but for adults as the characters felt in their late 20s-30s. Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
