Review: The Unsinkable Gus Davis - Laurie Trumble Davis
Review: The Unsinkable Gus Davis - Laurie Trumble Davis - June 2022
This was quite a cutesy animal read and a great summer tale about how sometimes the impossible is possible with a bit of ingenuity. This book is also a great summer holiday read as it is all about a girl named Bean who every day loves to swim down in the lake during the warm hot summer days. Each day Bean goes to the water, her little French bulldog Gus trots down and follows her to the water. He sees Bean having so much fun, that he wants to jump right in and join her. However, each time Gus ends up sinking and Bean has to save him. Just because he is a dog, doesn't mean that Gus is going to give up. Each day the same thing happens over and over again. That is until one day, Bean decides to bring a little lifejacket for Gus. At first, it is the most uncomfortable thing, but when he jumps into the water and floats - it becomes his favorite new object and therefore he is now 'The Unsinkable Gus Davis". If you love dogs and fun adventures, then this is the read for you. The Unsinkable Gus Davis is perfect for children aged 3- 6 years old and also includes beautiful illustrations thanks to Paulette Bogan.
