Review: Morgan's Law - Karly Lane - May 2012
Six months ago , Sarah Murphy was living the high-life in London when she received a phone call that her Grandmother had passed away. Trudging back home to Sydney, Sarah goes to pick up her Grandmother's ashes -attached to the ashes is a note to Sarah of where the ashes are to be scattered. At the "Wishing Tree" in Negallan - a small rural town out in the wop-wops. Respecting her Grandmother's wishes, Sarah heads to Negallan expecting only to be a couple of days but as soon as she arrives - she realises she in for the long haul from vehicle problems to the fact that nobody seems to know her Grandmother Eliza Jones or even remembers a "Jones" family living in Negallan. This is where the mystery begins as it turns out that Sarah's grandmother's real name was Rose Morgan and the Morgans are like Negallan Royalty and according to sources Rose Morgan vanished over sixty years ago when she was seventeen and no-one has heard from her since and assumed she had died or was murdered. What happened all those years ago for Sarah's grandmother to change her name ? The more Sarah hangs around town , the more that town secrets and buried truths and lies start to bubble to the surface.
Morgan's Law is the perfect read for anyone who not only wants a good ol' Aussie Rural Fiction read but for someone who also loves a mixture of romance and mystery.
