Review: Thirsty - Tracey Bateman - October 2009
Thirsty by Tracey Bateman was an interesting read as when it comes to Edgy Christian fiction, you never quite know what to expect. The novel started off with the introduction to Nina Parker and herself being labelled like her father -the town drunk. We then see her flash forward where she is now a mother with two children and a serious drinking problem. When things go from bad to worse, Nina finds herself in rehab- will she be able to last it out this time or will it be like the million of times before where she quickly falls prey to old habits ? Realising she needs to move on , Nina decides along with her daughter to take a trip back to her hometown- somewhere she hasn't stepped foot in the last seventeen years as the last time she was here - she was raped. When Nina arrives with her daughter a series of murders begin, are they connected with Nina ? This is where things take a twist as Tracey adds in a hint of Supernatural -think the Twilight Saga tale of The Cold Ones and the Warm Blooded that Jacob tells Bella in the first movie/book.
With something for everyone from Drugs to Alcohol to Murder to Vampires - Thirsty by Tracey Bateman is one helluva ride and keeps the readers entertained.

Review: Steel Princess - Rina Kent

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments. The other thing I love about The Winston Brothers is they are all genuinely nice guys ; they may look like they had a bad bone and they have reasons too - but they are the nicest around there, and they have the best intentions.
