Zoey and the Witch: A Novella: The Salem Black Hat Society

Review: Zoey and the Witch : A Novella - The Salem Black Hat Society #0.5 - Judy Gloom - 2018

This book grabbed my attention from the cutesy cover, it just sounded like it could be quite fun. The book starts in a voodoo shop in New Orleans it felt like and then jumps to a small town where Zoey lives with her mum and stepfather.  Years ago, Zoey's father vanished and everyone assumed he was dead and he was buried in his family's historic property. Zoey is visiting his grave when she meets a young woman who has just inherited the house that Zoey's father is buried in the graveyard. The pair discover that they are in fact relatives and that their grandfathers were brothers. Anastasia LeDoux is in town and is getting ready to be initiated into a secret coven of witches called the Salem Black Hat Society. Zoey has always felt she was different and loves everything witchy and secretly tags along. Imagine her surprise when they treat her like a celebrity and they all seem to know her father? Can this group reveal to Zoey - the truth of who her father was and why he disappeared and what happened to him? Zoey and the Witch is a quick prequel novella to the series "The Salem Black Hat Society". A fun YA Witchy series.
