Review: Rich Prick - Tijan

Review: Rich Prick - Tijan - June 2020

I was in two minds with this book, the first was the fact that no matter if or when I read it, I did know that I would finish it as I do like Tijan as an author and it would be rated between 3-5 Ps on the Phantom Paragrapher, that was a given. The second thing happened as I read it as it was great to start as it just followed a formula I know and expect of the hot popular guy falling for a plain invisible jane and of course both characters will be hiding a damaged life. This book introduces us to newcomer Blaise who has returned to the small town and going to Fallen Crest Academy and Aspen Monson- our invisible nobody who is just counting the days till she can leave this place behind as it holds too many memories for her. Our main characters have their first interaction in the woods and then Blaise captivated by this female who is different from those he normally has as groupies, sets out to find and track her down. What happens when he discovers, she is just as damaged as he is and lonely of course, this rich prick wants her as he helps him to be a better person. The thing I did love about this book but at the same time it annoyed me as it did make the book feel so busy at times was the reintroduction of some of our past favourite characters from several different books by Tijan from Fallen Crest Academy - Zeke, Sam, Logan, etc, Mason Kade from Mason, Nate Monson from Nate and then Bren, Cross, Channing and Taz, Race from The Crew Series. At times, this book as it is over 600 pages long did feel tedious and slow-paced but overall was a good NA edgy romantic read to prepare you for the new college year. If you love edgy NA reads and have read Tijan's other books, then you will enjoy Rich Prick by Tijan.
