Review: The 23rd Midnight - Book #23 Women's Murder Club Series - James Patterson and Maxine Paetro - March 2023
The Women's Murder Club is back in Book #23, which makes me realize how long I have been reading this series from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro when I first started it over 15 years ago, I think there were only the first 4 books published and I had picked up the first two at a second-hand book sale in Matamata when I was staying with my Nana. Sometimes when I read this series, I think to myself - just how many more as the plot is becoming a little tiresome, especially with Lindsay Boxer's back and forth about whether the job is still for her or whether she should be focusing on her family and her little girl. The 23rd Midnight should only be read if you had read one of the earlier books which focused on Evan and Lucas Burke where Lucas's wife and baby turned up dead which was loosely based on the Lacie Peterson case. The Women's Murder Club discovered that Evan had been killing for years and they finally caught him and put him behind bars for the rest of his life. Evan contacted Cindy - our reporter of the group to help him write a true crime book about his journey and killings. She did and the book did amazing and now Cindy is on a book tour promoting it. Some people are happy but others have mixed reviews and negative feelings and if they aren't careful, those negative hecklings might just get them killed as Evan Burke has a copycat stalking the streets. What happens though when Cindy finds herself kidnapped by the killer? Will this be the last of the foursome or will they rescue Cindy at the 23rd Hour? Find out in the 23rd Midnight by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro today.
