Review: Lessons in Evil - Melinda Woodhall
Review: Lessons in Evil - Book #1 Bridget Bishop FBI series - Melinda Woodhall - February 2022
After finishing the past three series that Melinda Woodhall has written, I was excited for a new set of characters and also to see how she would bring past characters to this series as that is what I have found her known for, crossing characters over her multiple series. In the Bridget Bishop FBI series, we first meet Bridget who is working as a psychologist after experiencing a bit of a breakdown while working as a profiler at the BAU. Bridget is an empath so her emotions get the better of her when dealing with serial killers. Meanwhile, it looks like she is needed back at the FBI as a new serial killer is using the same MO as the Shenandoah Strangler - someone who has now been executed as Bridget watched him die, he requested that she be the only one present as the two had formed a strange bond and her father Bob Bishop was the one to catch him. Another girl has gone missing and the FBI is at a loss, as we read Bridget is being pulled back into a world, she tried so hard to escape. The crossover characters as I mentioned earlier in this series were the lovely Agent Charlie Day and Agent Tristan Hale -the FBI agents we have read often as they featured quite prominently in the Willow Bay series of Veronica Lee. Lessons in Evil can be read as a standalone, like the rest of Melinda's series and I am looking forward to reading and seeing the direction that Melinda takes the Bridget Bishop series. Fans of thriller writers like Kendra Elliot, Melinda Leigh, and Kate Watterson will love Melinda Woodhall's suspense law enforcement reads.
