Review: I Love it When You Lie - Kristen Bird
Review: I Love It When You Lie - Kristen Bird - March 2023
This book had attracted me with the cover and I wanted to know more. When I started reading it, it was a good read and I was immediately thrown into the family of the Williams sisters. What a crazy family it was all filled to the brim with dark secrets of their own and each one protecting the other, also we discovered again like a few other books I have read, that the men have a wandering eye and other body parts. However, in this book, it doesn't bode well for the men as they have tended to end up dead. The book starts the day it should have been a celebration for the matriarch of the family Pearl Williams as it was her 80th birthday. However, instead of celebrating her birthday, they were having her funeral. The book then jumps forward in time to Stephanie Williams - the wife of Walker Williams sitting in an interrogation room as the officer is grilling her about her sister in laws and a missing person. Stephanie knows how to work a room and has her goal set on being a politician or at least a politician's wife and will play the situation to her advantage without giving too much away. You see The Williams family are all hiding dark and dirty secrets, that if they got out would ruin the whole family clan not just the person Stephanie has worked too hard being a part of this family to let them drag her down to their level. I Love It When You Lie was a great family thriller that also shows the bonds and strengths families will have to protect one another and that most of us will go to lengths to keep each other safe and sound. I am now looking forward to reading Kristen's other book The Night She Went Missing.
