Review: The Wishing Bridge - Viola Shipman - November 2023

With the Christmas season coming up fast as Christmas Day is on Monday, I figured it's the time to get into reading some Christmas reads watching Christmas movies and of course listening to Christmas carols. The Wishing Bridge was sent to me by HarperCollins US and was such a great Christmas read if you are a fan of Hallmark Christmas films then this is the ideal book for you as it could easily be one of those stories that could be adapted to the screen and one day I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't. The book starts with Henrietta Wegner who grew up in a small town that loves Christmas time of course her Dad opened it and now owns the biggest toy store Wegner's Toys where it is Christmas all year round. Henri wanted more than the small-town life and got a job where they take businesses and make cuts and sell them to big corporations. On the verge of losing her job, she makes a deal that she will get her family to sell their business if she can keep her job.  Of course, she heads home and starts to fall back in love with the small-town life, and the family company and remembers why she loved the toy business, and even better she reconnects with her high-school boyfriend. Christmas, Friendship, Families and Second Chance Romance - The Wishing Bridge by Viola Shipman has it all and the makings of a Hallmark Christmas film.
