Review: Win, Lose, Kill, Die - Cynthia Murphy

Review: Win, Lose , Kill, Die - Cynthia Murphy - January 2022

I have always been a fan of boarding school mysteries and YA thrillers and this one was another great read. I hadn't read anything by this author before, but now she is one to keep an eye out on. The book starts with a head girl of a secret society Jewel and Bone being found dead in the lake - Morgan. It was ruled as an accident, but now with the new year - the replacement Head Girl has gotten a note that says it wasn't and she is next. Is this a threat to pay attention or is someone missing from the secret society? When more students die and it feels like the role of head girl is cursed, who will be next and will they want to step up for the role? This was one book where at the beginning I had an idea, but then it started to change about halfway through and then when the killer was revealed finally at the end - it was like, of course, I was right all along.  Cynthia Murphy though, proved that she is a great author as a great book and writer is one where you think you know but due to the story - you begin to doubt yourself. If you love YA boarding school mysteries and thrillers, then don't forget to check out Win, Lose, Kill, Die by Cynthia Murphy with the Christmas break coming up and most people on holiday, this is when the Libby App becomes the place to read and you can borrow for free great YA thrillers like this one.
