My Favorite Half-Night Stand

Review: My Favourite Half-Night Stand - Christina Lauren - December 2018
Another of my favorite settings for books happens to be on the College campus as they have this kind of academic feel often about them. In My Favourite Half-Night Stand we meet Millie and her four guy friends. She has always been "just" one of the guys, and it's been fine until one night, they all have a bit too much to drink, and she ends up going home with Reid and sleeping with him. Hence the title - half-night stand as he doesn't stay the whole night. The sex is fantastic, and she wants more, and so does he, but Millie is so worried that it will ruin their friendship as she would instead put aside her happiness to keep their bond secure. They do, however, throughout the book, on a few occasions, sleep together as friends with benefits. One of their college functions are coming up, and they tend to go solo or as a group to these functions but a suggestion is made to each try online dating to find a date of their own to take to the gala. Millie helps the guys write their profiles, and hers is a bit of a downer, she gets a couple of hits, but they aren't her type of guy. During the book, Millie decides to write a profile using her middle name Catherine and goes sincere and honest after being accused of keeping everything a secret. The profile matches her with Reid in the high 90s, and so the two of them start to exchange messages. As each other start to fall in love online, Millie means to tell Reid the truth, but each time she gets close, she backs out. What happens though when Reid finds out and feels like the butt of their joke? Can Millie prove to him that she loves him and can she for once be completely honest to Reid how she feels without hiding? The other thing I loved about this book was the group chats and emails that the characters had throughout the story as I love it when Social Media is used in novels.
