Review: Break Her Heart - Melinda Woodhall
Review: Break Her Heart - Book #4 Nessa Ainsley Series - Melinda Woodhall - October 2021
I have to admit, I have been pretty good
lately and haven't done this in a while but oops I have somehow managed again
to read a series out of order. I went from Book #2 to Book #4 and accidentally
skipped Book #3, so will have to backtrack. However, as I know what happened to
Nessa after she left Rosewood PD it didn't create any spoilers for me. I would
suggest to readers that they read her Willow Bay and Veronica Lee series first
before the Nessa Ainsley Novellas. As readers of Melinda's series will know,
Nessa is currently the Chief of Police in Willow Bay but before she got that
role and moved to Willow Bay, she was a detective with the Rosewood PD and in
Break Her Heart the town of Rosewood's females are being hunted by the Eastside
Ripper. So far, the Eastside Ripper has been very cocky but now after killing
someone in the hospital and being caught, they kidnapped their witness,
Miranda. Miranda's disappearance has put the Ripper in the spotlight and as
readers know Nessa is good at her job so it will be only a matter of time
before the Eastside Ripper is caught. Also, in Break Her Heart, Nessa is trying
to juggle being a mother and a detective but also now with the added stress of
her mother being in hospital. Is it time for life in a quieter town like Willow
Bay? Nessa - be careful what you wish for. Melinda Woodhall's mysteries
are fast-paced and easy to read as well as being very enjoyable. I also love
how with all her books; the characters interconnect and you start to get to
know them as if they were part of the family.
