Review: Sins and Secrets - Book #1 Sins Series - Jessica Sorensen - June 2014

Years ago, when New Adult books first came out - one of my favorite authors and must-buy was Jessica Sorensen. I just loved all her books and the NA edginess to them and the characters were easy to fall for and they were all damaged and flawed. The only downside to Jessica Sorensen though was that the majority of her series was left unfinished which is disappointing to readers especially when the books end in cliff-hangers like this book. In Sins and Secrets which is a series that is no longer published we meet Lola and Layton who have been best friends since they were 8 years old. They have been involved in a shooting of one of the other drug families and now on the run to survive, they both went their separate ways. Now two years later Layton is presumed dead and Lola is living a life under a pseudonym, however, her past is about to catch up on her as someone is sending notes to both her jobs mentioning her past and real name. If that wasn't bad enough, Layton has popped up and with him is a girl who looks like Lola. But Lola was an only child, right? Now the two have hit not just from one family but all of them. Can the pair work together with the newcomers to save themselves and bring down the empires once and for all? Find out in Sins and Secrets by Jessica Sorensen.
