Review: The Hate Between Us - Vera Hollins

Review: The Hate Between Us - Vera Hollins - March 2022

This book I have had for a few months and kept meaning to read but I find for this emotional / Bullymance reads, I need to be in the right frame of mind and I currently went through some emotional rubbish of my own and needed something to get my angst out and what better book than The Hate Between Us by Vera Hollins. This book starts with us meeting Katie who was paralyzed from the waist down after being hit one night by a drunk driver aka Caroline Adams. Katie has now ended up in a wheelchair and on a spiral down into a depressive state, if that wasn't bad enough - Caroline's brother Jason is determined to make Katie's life hell and since she ruined Caroline's by not moving - he is determined to make her life ruined as in his mind she would have been better off dead.  Enter Liam, he is Katie's knight in shining armor, or is he a villain in disguise? He has been by Katie's side and helping her out at school but has he got an ulterior motive for his kindness? What happens when Katie and Jason are paired as leads in the school's centennial play? Can they work through their differences and pull off the performance of their lives? Will this play bring the unlikely pair closer and in doing so, help Katie remember what happened that fateful night?

Find out all this and more in another amazing emotive Bullymance tale by Vera Hollins and if you love enemies to lovers YA/NA reads, then this author needs to be added to your favorites list.
