Review: Folk Around and Find Out - Penny Reid

Review: Folk Around and Find Out - Book #2 Good Folk Series - Penny Reid - October 2022

If there is one place, I love reading books set it is in Green Valley, Tennessee and I just adore Penny Reid as an author as every time I read a book set in Green Valley, I feel like I am being reunited with my favorite characters all over again. I just love also how all her series overlap, so no matter which one you read - you catch glimpses of characters you have fallen in love with and storylines that make you go - ah, that's right.  In Book #2 of Good Folk, we are reunited with Charlotte Mitchell who people will remember was dating Jackson James - the sheriff for a little while before he got with Rae. Charlotte's husband has run off and the town blamed Hank Weller, that is except for Charlotte. Now with her cousin Heather missing and the stripper bar being her only lead - Charlotte must ask Hank for a job. Hank blames Charlotte for his lack of business and the backlash he received from the town and is a stubborn man. Eventually, the pair finally see eye to eye and click, but Hank has a strict policy not to mix business and romance. What will happen though when Charlotte returns to her normal life, can the two go their separate ways or is the spark too hot? This was another wonderful read from Penny Reid as we were not only reunited with favorites like Cletus Winston but reminded of events like when Di Donner ran off with Razor and Hannah's mum ended up falling for Jed. This book ends on a cliffhanger and we see a possible budding romance between Hannah and Isaac Donner.  This series is perfect if you love geeky and small-town romance with lots of laughs and just a good general homely feel. Penny Reid is one of the authors that I will always purchase without reading what the book is about.
