Review: Ella Says... I'm Going to be an Astronaut - Anu D. Misa - March 2020

I loved this book as it shows that girls can do anything just like boys, in a world where girls couldn't be astronauts - now females are training to go to space and the International Space Station which I love. In this cute children's book by Anu D. Misa, we are reunited with Ella and her dog Ollie on their latest adventure. One evening Ella hears a crash and tiptoes downstairs quietly trying not to wake anyone up, but her younger brother Parker has heard the noise too. So together, they head outside to investigate. In their backyard is a sad little alien who has crashed his spaceship rocket. With Ella, Parker, and Ollie's help, the spaceship rocket will be repaired and the four of them will head off to space on a fun and crazy adventure to the moon and back all before morning. This junior fiction read is suitable for children aged 5-9 years old and is a great read to remind children and girls that they can be anything they wish to be.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost.
