Review: Just Drop Out - J. Bree
Review: Just Drop Out - Book #1 Hannaford Prep Year One Series - J.Bree - August 2019
Eclipse aka Lips Anderson grew up in the foster care system and then had
to fight her way to survive and this ended up her winning a coveted spot as one
of the Twelve on the Jackals aka Matteo's team. This now makes her one of the
most dangerous people around. She also has been trying to get out of this life
and managed to get herself not only emancipated but also a scholarship to the
rich and wealthy school Hannaford Prep. When Lips arrives though, she is
treated as Mounty trash and the school's rich and wealthy family the Beaumonts
will try and get rid of her. The bullying in this book is quite intense
compared to other bullymance books. In some parts it rivaled Rachel Angel's Bad
Boys of Kingsbury Prep but not as intense. With Lips power on the outside
and the favours that she has managed to build up over the years from the others
in the Twelve, Lips will survive her first year of Hannaford Prep and show the
Beaumonts that she is not one to just roll over and play dead and that it's
going to take a lot more than bullying, attempted rape and beatings to get rid
of her . Even if this means she has to resort to getting help from the one man
she never wanted to rely on ever again - Matteo. Can Lips survive the first
year and what will happen when she returns home for the Summer and takes her
place at the Club meeting? I liked Just Drop Out as for once it was nice to
read a bullymance focusing on the main female character and one that didn't
have the focus on the main love interest's or RH feel to the book. I am
now looking forward to reading Book #2 as though it wasn't a cliffhanger ending
as such, it did have an open-ended ending.
