Review: Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy - Book #5 The Baileys - Piper Rayne - November 2019
One of my favorite authors, as they hit the right spot of comedy but also contemporary romance and other emotions, is the lovely duo known as Piper Rayne and The Bailey family is one of my favorite bookish families. Book #5 Demise of a Self-Centered Playboy is the story of Denver Bailey - the other half of the first twin duo ( Rome's twin). Now that we saw Rome and Liam settle down, we figured it would only be a matter of time for the last in their friendship circle to find the perfect match. The thing is though that at the beginning of the book, this pair hate each other with a passion and are thrown to the wolves from the very first page as Chip Dawson - the owner of Lifetime Adventures has died and he has left in his will that his company is split 50/50 between Denver Bailey and his daughter Cleo Dawson. Denver can't afford to buy Bailey out and Cleo's stepfather thinks that this will give Cleo the chance to find something she loves as every other job she has had, she has been fired. The company is in the red and they have been given an amazing opportunity to get back into Black. Before he died, Chip had set up a reality TV show to come and check out the Alaskan views. Denver using his connections gets Griffin Thorne ( he will be the leader of the next book) and for the next week, Cleo and Denver for TV's sake have to pretend they are in a relationship which of course would be a lot easier if they didn't hate each other's guts. As the book goes along though, we learn a bit more about Denver and Cleo and that they aren't so different after all and our playboy king Denver when he wants to be is a closet romantic.  Can Denver persuade Cleo to stay in Lake Starlight and has Cleo finally managed to tame one of Lake Starlight's playboys and get him off the single market?
Find out in Book #5 of this family saga - The Baileys by Piper Rayne.
