VBT # Review: Bury Me With Lies - S.M Soto

Review: Bury Me With Lies - Book #2 Twin Lies - S.M Soto - April 2020
I have to admit when this book arrived on my Kindle, I was so excited to read it as absolutely loved the first book. For me, it is very rare to rate a book highly as I am a fussy reader and Book #1 was an absolute OMFG must-read novel. So before I opened this book, I had quite high expectations. Unfortunately, that is the reason I felt let down and didn't enjoy this book as much as I thought I would. The book starts where Book #1 finishes with the aftermath of the car crash. Mackenzie manages to escape and ends up in a hospital and Vincent the same. Mackenzie's injuries though are extreme and it's a miracle she survived. We meet her horrible parents and can get that "Madison was the favorite twin" vibe. Mackenzie ends up being committed and out in the real world - the Savages have twisted the story to make Mackenzie the "bad girl". During her stay, she eventually is found by Baz King. Sebastian aka Baz despite everything that has happened and he's still an alpha male jerk, he still loves Mackenzie and vice versa. We go back to that fateful summer to find out what happened and we learn more about Madison's life and her secrets. Bury Me With Lies does have lots of sex scenes and steaminess and a heck load of game-playing between Baz and Mackenzie. A bit too much for my liking and OMG the reveal of the reason behind Madison's death felt a little bit of weak reasoning for myself to enjoy. Overall, Bury Me With Lies is a book that you should only read if you want to complete the duet.
