Review: Mystery of the 13th Floor - Book #5 Taylor Kelsey Mysteries - AJ Diaz - January 2012

Needing a YA mystery to read? Love characters like Veronica Mars and Nancy Drew? Taylor Kelsey is a fifteen/sixteen-year-old girl who solves mysteries in her local town. In Book #5 Taylor is hanging out with her best friends Susan and Chad and we learn that Chad is moving away as his pastor's dad has gotten a new job. This is Chad's last time to finally tell Taylor he loves her and get his first kiss from her. This book starts with an assassination attempt of an ambassador and then moves to Timothy Mell who owns a hotel and is getting threats. Taylor and the Chief look into the hotel and the case seems to stump everyone, during the case, Taylor meets Timothy Timothy aka Tim Mell's son and now he fancies Taylor too and looks like Chad now has some competition for Taylor's affections. Moving forward Tim finds his Dad died and the bodyguard guilty. The police believe the case is closed, but something isn't adding up for Taylor. Of course, Taylor is right and this leads the latter part of the book getting very exciting from more death threats, attempted murder, and abductions.
