The Photograph (Eastbrook 1)

Review: The Photograph - Book #1 Eastbrook Series - Kristen Otte - June 2014

Rachel Brandt is sixteen years old and looking forward to her life as she has a perfect boyfriend of six months that loves her, she has just gotten her driver's license and her basketball career is going well. All that though starts to falter and drift away when one day she is getting the Halloween decorations down from the attic and stumbles upon a photo of her dad and a woman. Rachel asks her grandparents who have raised her and they shrug it off saying that it was just a random girlfriend. Later Rachel learns that it was, in fact, her birth mother Julia. Then starts a search for her mother and during this time will start to drift away from her boyfriend and make a few mistakes in her basketball game. During this time Rachel will also learn secrets about her birth that will leave her questioning herself and wondering if everything she has done or been told for the past sixteen years was a lie as the truth revealed leaves Rachel in a question of her identity.  The Photograph by Kristen Otte was a clean YA read.
