Review: You Will Remember Me - Hannah Mary McKinnon - May 2021
Lately, I have been stuck in
a reading rut and so I turned to mystery and thrillers as they always along
with Bullymance able to pull me out of the reading slump. You Will Remember Me
by Hannah Mary McKinnon starts with a happy couple Lily and Jack. Jack is Mr.
Reliable and Responsible, so when he doesn't turn up in the morning Lily is
worried sick that something has happened to him, as she contacts the police -
secrets will start to pour out about not only her past but that Jack's wasn't
as squeaky clean as she thought. Meanwhile "Jack" has awoken on the
beach and suffering amnesia with only glimpses of memories. He ends up in Maine
and turns out his real name is Ash and he disappeared two years ago. With both
parents gone and only his sister living, Ash moves in with her but soon starts
to realize that maybe he had a very good reason to run away and disappear two
years ago as it seems that when he gets close to a woman, she ends up either
disappearing or dying. When Lily turns up to reconnect with Jack/Ash, is her
life now in danger as someone wants to make it clear that now that Ash is back
- he is hers only and there's no room in his life for Lily, even if it means
that she will be the next female to vanish. You Will Remember Me by Hannah Mary
McKinnon had a very twisted ending that makes you go Woah as all is revealed
and you are left with a sliver of hope that someone will come and save the day.
