Call it nostalgia, call it withdrawals - lately I have felt a strong desire to read children's books and get back to reviewing them.  Inspired by a true story, When We Went Wild is a book about two farmers Nancy and Jake who decide that they are missing nature and the "real world" as their farm became taken over with chemicals, machinery, and fancy new tools. On a whim, the couple decides to get rid of it all and return their farm to its natural habitat. Of course, they are met with resistance from the locals but soon the townspeople come to realize the benefits of a wild and natural farm. This story was inspired by a couple who in 2000 in the smalltown of Knepp, West Sussex UK decided to rewild their farm. Complete with beautiful illustrations that are Safari meets Farm Life, this sophisticated picture book is perfect for ages 6-9 years old.

Review: Steel Princess - Book #2 Royal Elite Series - Rina Kent - December 2019 At the end of Book #1, we were left on a cliffhanger of Elsa being pushed into the pool. At the beginning of book #2, she is saved by a newcomer to the school - Knox.  We can see some friendly flirting but nothing more going on between these two, but it riles up Aiden who still has this mindset of "if I can't have her, no-one can" especially since he is supposed to be engaged to Silver Queens. During Book #2 Elsa starts to recall some more memories and goes to Dr.Khan in hopes that he can open her Pandora's box and can restore her full memories of what happened before she was seven years old. We also catch a glimpse during this book of her past and why Aiden King's father blames her for his mother's death and why Aiden considered Elsa a ghost. Review: Dr. Strange Beard - Book #5 Winston Brothers Series - Penny Reid - July 2018 If there is a family that I love to read about it has been the Winston Brothers. This has to be one of my favorite book series out there as the brothers ; you can't help but fall in love with them all - with their funny quirks and their redneck comments.
