Review: The Weird Sisters - Eleanor Brown

Are you a Shakespeare Fan ? Looking for a fun light-hearted Chick Lit type novel to read , one that explains Sisterhood in a way that relates to the majority of us with siblings ?

Review: The Weird Sisters - Eleanor Brown - January 2011
"There is no problem that a library card can't solve"
As a big reader myself , I loved this quote and as soon as I opened the book , it was one I could not put down as the characters were so realistic , that you could not help but be related to one or a combination of all three. Introduced in the novel is the Andreas Family , the father is a Professor who only talks in Shakespearean script , the mother who has discovered that she is dying from Breast Cancer and the three sisters Rose , Bean and Cordy aka Rosalind, Bianca and Cordelia - all named after Shakespearean Characters. We meet Rose , the eldest who has always assumed the responsibility of the household who is stuck between her dream job in Bramwell or moving to England for two years with her fiance , will Rose choose her career over love ? Bean who has been fired from her job for embezzlement has moved back home as a last resort , will she be able to move on with her life when she's offered the job as Bramwell's Librarian and when it comes to guys will she choose Edward or the new Father Aiden ? Last but not least, Cordy - she has come home with a secret, she's pregnant .When she finds love with Dan -owner of the local Coffee shop , will it last or will he be off like a shot when he discovers she carrying someone else's baby ?
A story of love, forgiveness and the real meaning of sisterhood .

  1. As one of three sisters myself, I found much to love about this book. Each sister struggling with her place within the family was quite familiar. These characters are exquisitely depicted and have made an indelible impression on me. I highly recommend this book, especially if you are one of three sisters, weird or not.
