Review: 1105 Yakima Street - Cedar Cove Series Book #11 -July 2011
Are you a fan of Debbie Macomber's Cedar Cove books ? I personally have only read a handful of her books and this was the first in the Cedar Cove Series. My personal favourite series of her's has been The Blossom Street Series. My mum and best friend Deb are big Debbie Macomber fans and have read and devoured her books. They tend to rave on about them, so I thought when 1105 Yakima Street came up for review on Netgalley, I'd give it a go .
As I gathered from reading 1105 Yakima Street, the Cedar Cove series is based around the Cedar Cove neighbourhood and it's residents and each book is based around an issue that is present in today's society. Debbie's writing has captured the emotion and the essence of these issues in a way that is relatable to the reader themselves, even if they too have not yet experienced the situation themselves personally, they are bound to know somebody for certain that has.
1105 Yakima Street tells the story of Rachel and Bruce who are newlyweds and their tale of having a perfect step-family. Bruce  has a daughter called Jolene who lost her mother when she was six years old and has been the apple and sole joy of Bruce's for all these years. Now it's discovered that Rachel is pregnant and Jolene is definitely not one bit happy about it and she will not stop her antics till she has Bruce on her side. During the novel , we also read as Rachel wonders the big "What If" question on was marrying Bruce  the right decision or should she have waited for Nate to return home ? Can Rachel and Bruce work their problems out or will Jolene's antics push Rachel over the edge ? As usual , Debbie Macomber has captured the family drama saga antics which draws readers to her novels.

  1. We picked up this book on tape at Cracker Barrell for our 10 hour ride back from North Carolina to Florida. It was awful, my sister did want to find out what happened with Rachel and Bruce but I can't bring myself to have to listen to the rest of it.
