Review: Spies, Lies and Cupcakes - Jessica Sorensen
Review: Spies, Lies and Cupcakes - Book #1 Rebels and Misfits Series - Jessica Sorensen - May 2020
I have to admit, I do love
Jessica Sorensen as an author but at the same time, she frustrates the hell out
of me as in the last 5+ years. The majority of her series are left incomplete
and/or they are constantly having name changes and it's like have I read this
or not? Years ago, when New Adult was just starting Jessica Sorensen was one of
the first authors I read and I loved her writing style and fell in love with
her books. This book has had a few name changes and has been called Reinventing
My Heart and is now known as Confessions of Luna. We meet Luna whose parents
are religious and super-strict, they are also old enough to be her grandparents
and there were parts in the story that has me wondering whether they are and
the Aunt that they keep warning her about is her mother (none of this is talked
about though, so just speculation). Luna has a dark secret, she is a
kleptomaniac and loves the thrill of stealing things like sexy lingerie,
make-up, earrings, etc - her trinkets. During one of her latest times, she is
almost caught and Grey - a classmate helps her out. As the book goes on, we
learn about both Grey's life and Luna's and soon the pair of them will start to
get text messages which will result in their deepest darkest secrets being
released out to the world. Who is behind the messages and why are they
tormenting Luna and Grey? Find out in this Book #1 which does end on a major
cliffhanger and sadly we are still yet to have Book #2 released.
