Review: Anywhere But Here - Anna Cruise - February  2014
Every year, I try and make it my goal to clear out and read the older books on my devices. Books I have had sitting there since the mid to later 2000's seeing as we are in 2020 now. This particular book I have had sitting on my kindle for about 5-6 years. I have found myself in the past enjoying Anna Cruise's books especially the Annika and Abby series and so was excited to read Anywhere But Here. This book starts with us meeting Jacie who has returned home and working in the local cafe as she has discovered her mother stole her college tuition money. Jacie had vowed never to return home but with nowhere else to go, she must come back home to her mother's trailer. Here she meets her mum's new boyfriend and is drawn back into the drama of her mother's bad choices. During the book, too Jacie is confronted with her old boyfriend Garrett who never stopped loving her and the new guy around town Cade. What will happen though when one day Jacie learns the truth about why her mother stole the money and now must make a choice to save her mother and herself from being sold as a sex slave to pay back the bad guys. Can Jacie finally get herself and her mother out of this town for good? Find out in Anywhere But Here by Anna Cruise.
