The Cursed Series, Parts 1 & 2 (If I'd Known/Knowing You)

Review: The Cursed Series - Part 1 and 2 - Rebecca Donovan - March 2019

An author that I have always found myself enjoying and her books have always been able to touch an inner part of myself are Rebecca Donovan. I hadn't read a book of her's for a while and so when I saw The Cursed Series, I decided to read it and WOWZA- this was amazing and intense and angsty at the same time. Parts 1 and 2 of The Cursed series packs a punch for the reader, so much that I had to sleep on this book as I couldn't read anything straight after as I had to digest what I had just read. This was one of those books and of course, I immediately told all my friends to read it as it was just WOW. The series starts with our main character Lana having a night out with her friends, which ends in tragedy. Of course, Lana is cursed with honesty and cannot lie and will do anything to protect those she loves. Lana instead of being sent to juvie is sent to a boarding school. Here she meets a few of the other students and learns their curses - the good and the bad. We also find out that they are all connected via a photograph which shows their mothers pregnant and DNA tests. Of course, not all of them know who their father is - including Lana. Was their a pregnancy pact made when their parents were 18 years old? What is happening to them all now and why and how are they connected? The book ended on a major cliffhanger which I can't wait now for April to hurry up so I can read Parts #3 and 4.  The Cursed Series was an excellent YA Thriller that at every corner makes you question who can you trust and what is truth and what is a lie? If you can only read one series this year for 2020, then make The Cursed Series by Rebecca Donovan those books.
