Review: Elite - Book #1 - Horizon Heights Academy Book One - Samantha Davis - January 2020

Now and again you get a bullymance with a twist and Samantha Davis's Elite is one of those. Compared with the other bully romances, the bullying in this particular book was very tame but what I liked for this one is she was a strong character right the way through and had one goal in mind - bringing down the hierarchy or the ones known as the HSE. Madi has started a new school and has gone to live with her Aunt after her mother dies. Madi catches the attention of the elites at a party before school starts. Once it starts, she learns all about them and soon Harmony - the main female character sees her as a threat. Harmony does act out and tries to get revenge and squash Madi down, but what she doesn't realize is that with the advice of her aunt - Madi will externally stay strong even though she is screaming on the inside. I liked Madi's character as you could see the turmoil she was going through but she remained strong and was determined not to let them treat her horribly. This book has an RH feel to it with the three guys Mason, Nate, and James but by the end of the book - you can see which one Madi favors.  Even though I did enjoy this book, it isn't a series though that I will continue as it didn't inspire that much and doesn't end on a cliffhanger.
