Review: Grayson - Book #1 - Lisa Eugene - September 2014

Not really knowing what this book was about except that it contained a character with a mental illness, I knew I wanted to read it as I have always been fascinated with Mental Health and even now, I have just started a new job and work with Mental Health and Addiction Services. I think it's in my blood as my Dad has always worked in this field and my siblings have Mental Health issues. Though when you think about it, the majority of the world fits into that category somewhere. In Grayson, we first meet Angie Roberts who is a college student studying to be a Nurse. At school, she sees a job cleaning out a house. Angie applies and gets the job with the only requirement is not to go upstairs. At first, Angie believes she is alone but soon will realize that her boss's father is upstairs. During the cleanout, Angie finds a painting of whom she gathers is the owner and due to the 84 signature, she gets it in her mind he is an old man. Imagine her surprise when she learns he is only in his 40's, fit and hot/sexy. During the middle part of the story, Angie will learn that Grayson has schizophrenia and that after the accident which killed his wife, he stopped taking his medication and went downhill and now never leaves the house. The latter part of the novel has sparks flying between Angie and Grayson, but not everyone is happy especially Grayson's son who wants Angie for himself and will do anything to control and get his hands on what he wants - which is Angie and his father's fortune. Can Angie work together with the lawyer to not only save Grayson's life - the man she has come to love but also his house and fortune from being ripped away by his greedy guts of a son? Find out in Book #1 Grayson by Lisa Eugene today.
