Top Ten Tuesday : Literary Characters and Figures I want to Name My Children After

Today's Top Ten Tuesday is Book Characters and Figures that I wish to name my Children after.

  1. Holden - From "The Catcher In the Rye" - I've always loved the name Holden and after Jake Gyllenhal played him , I think that boosted it's name points.
  2. Tristan - "Tristan and Isolode" - I love the name Tristan , it has an air of elegance around it and again James Franco played Tristan in the remake.
  3. Heathcliff or Heath for Short - "Wuthering Heights"- I've always loved the name Heath and Ive always had a thing for Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights.
  4. Scarlett - "Gone with the Wind"- I quite like the name Scarlett for a girl, it's a strong but feminine name.
  5. Temperance or Tempe (nickname) - "Kathy Reich's series - Bones" - I love this name as it's so unusual.
  6. Devon - After by Amy Efaw - This can be either a girl's or a boy's name -in the book it is a girl but I prefer it as a boy's name.
  7. Claudia - Ann M Martin's "The Babysitter's Club" - I love the name Claudia and the Claudia's that I have read in literature are always Creative.
  8. Ryan - Love Unscripted by Tina Reber - I love the name Ryan for a boy , has always been on my list.
  9. Lucas - "Waking the witch" Kelley Armstrong  and features in her Otherworld series.- Another favourite guy name of mine.
  10. Jesse- "The Mediator series " Meg Cabot - To conclude , I also have always liked the name Jesse and in the Mediator ,he was a HOT Cowboy ghost but none the less - a cute one.

  6. We share Holden, and Scarlett is probably a runner up for me- such a great character and a cool name, but it's been ruined for me by ditsy Scarlett Johansson.
I also LOVE the name Jesse. I would've liked to give that one to my son, but I couldn't get my husband on board. Tristan is a good one, too. Nice list!

  13. Great set of names! I think Heath(cliff) and Holden would make wonderful names from twin brothers ;). And I just watched Bones tonight -- really like Temperance.
