Welcome to Top Ten Tuesday, Today's is Books to Film Adaptions. As a voracious reader and movie watcher , I have many that made excellent films and know plenty that butchered it. So today is my Top Ten Books to Films and note the majority of DVDs _Film Versions I own.

  1. One of my favourite stories of all time is Cinderella and this is one that they have made plenty of film adaptions - My favourite Film Adaptions of Cinderella are - Maid in Manhattan , Ever After- A Cinderella Story , A Cinderella Story and Another Cinderella Story.
  2. Like many famous playwrights Shakespeare's works have been made into films - My favourite is 10 things I Hate about You based on the Taming of the Shrew , Macbeth starring Sam Worthington based on MacBeth and She's the Man featuring Amanda Bynes based on Twelfth Night.
  3. Snow White - another favourite of my fairytales - Made into a modern remake called Sydney White featuring Amanda Bynes and Sara Paxton.
  4. Penelope - The movie starring Christina Ricci and James McAvoy Based on the book Penelope by Marilyn Kaye.
  5. Another classic story is Alice in Wonderland - Alice starring Johnny Depp and a futuristic Modern Day Alice featuring Tim Curry and Kathy Bates.
  6. Based on the book "The Wizard of Oz" we have the DVD The Tin Man featuring Zooey Deschanel and Alan Cummings.
  7. Twilight, New Moon and Eclipse - Based on Stephenie Meyer's saga The Twilight Saga.
  8. A favourite author of mine is Nicholas Sparks - I own the DVDs of The Notebook and A Walk to Remember.
  9. Jodi Picoult's My Sister's Keeper - Another DVD and book that I loved starring Abigail Breslin and Cameron Diaz.
  10. Sundays at Tiffanys - The movie based on the book by James Patterson.
Other Favourites Include:
PS I Love You , The Jane Austen Book Club, Lost in Austen, Clueless , The Devil Wears Prada, Sherlock Holmes, The Love Comes Softly Series, The Christy Series , Bones s1-s5 , The Clique, In Her Shoes, Bratz, Bride and Prejudice, The Secret Life of Bees, Tuck Everlasting, Gossip Girl Series s1-s3.

  1. I thought the Love Comes Softly movies were really well done, especially the first two.

And I agree with the Secret Life of Bees and the Twilight series (except the first movie which I thought was too corny).

  2. I loved the Jane Austen Book Club as a movie, but I haven't read the book. I've also never read anything by Nicholas Sparks, and all the lists this week are showing me I'm definitely in the minority on that!

    Great list!

  3. Darn, totally didn't think about Wizard of Oz (would have made my top 10) or Shakespeare
