Speed Dating with the Dead

Review: Speed Dating with the Dead - Scott Nicholson- September 2010

When I first read the title of this book, I thought it might actually have something to do with Speed Dating, more like Speed Dating for the Supernatural Lovers e.g looking to hook up with a Vampire or a Ghost ?
I was in for something different, as the story focuses on a paranormal conference held at the White Cottage Inn situated in the Appalachians. The main character name is Digger Wilson, him and his daughter Kendra visit haunted sites -aiming to find the ghosts and their tales.
There were lots of great, unique characters, and every angle of ghost hunting was explored--the techies with all their ghost-hunting equipment; the physicist determined to show that the conference is a hoax; the questionable psychics who provide entertainment. Speed Dating for the Dead is a novel that fans of the hit show Supernatural will enjoy as unlike fake ghost hunters , Digger has the gift for the past few years on seeing them and one ghost in particular doesn't want him to leave. At the Cottage Inn, one ghost's story goes untold - the story of Margaret- a woman that disappeared without a trace.
As all the ghost business happens in a particular room - Room 318 it reminded me of the Stephen King short-story and film starring John Cusack -Room 1408 , where he has to face all his fears in a haunted hotel room.
