Review: Always the Baker, Never the Bride - Sandra D. Bricker- September 2010
Never been one whose very lucky when it comes to love , with all her friends, family getting married and vows renewed. Emma Rae Travis , daughter of Southern ettiquette socialite Avery Travis and real-estate extraodinaire Gavin Travis has chucked herself into her work , doing what she does best- Baking . Now this wouldn't be such an odd job , but for Emma -she can't actually eat her cooking as when she was in college, she was diagnosed a diabetic. Working in a smalltown bakery called The Backstreet Baker , Emma has always dreamt of one day owning her own kitchen- so when she is offered a job as a baker for a new hotel opening ,she jumps at the chance. Little does she realise her life is about to get a tad complicated as her new boss Jackson Drake turns out to be Mr Rude GQ customer from the bakery and the first wedding Tanglewood is planning and they want Emma to bake the cake for happens to be her ex-boyfriend from High School- Danny Mahoney. Though it seems for others that LOVE is in the air as we read the wedding engagement of Emma's best friends Fee and stay tuned for two surprise twists that reader's won't expect and of course the big question - Will Emma finally get her chance to be a bride or will she choose second best as a Bridesmaid ?
