Review: Jane by April Lindner

Are you a fan of Charlotte Bronte's novel "Jane Eyre" ? Ever wondered what it might have been like if it was set in the now and with the "Mr Rochester" being a famous Rock Star?

Review: Jane - April Lindner- October 2010
Have you ever wondered what life may have been like for Jane Eyre if she had lived in today's society ? Meet Jane Moore, she is seventeen and an orphan. All she ever wanted to do was go to College but when her parents die and she is left penniless she must go forth and seek employment. Jane Moore applies with Diminishing Nannies Inc and gains a job working as a Nanny for 80's Rock Star Nico Rathbone and his 5yr old daughter Maddy. As the novel goes on , we see Jane and Maddy start to bond and though her first impression of her boss Nico doesn't go too well with him nearly running her over , things start to slowly settle and we read as Jane develops feelings for Mr Rathbone. Though of course, Nico being a hollywood heartthrob , we see him go through his fairshare of girlfriends . The novel travels through Jane, Nico and Maddy's day-to-day life with Nico and Jane becoming so close that he asks her to marry him. However as we all know the story of Jane Eyre , Nico is hiding something and keeping secrets and it has to do with his previous marriages and the third floor of his mansion. When Jane discovers the truth, hurt she flees to create a new life and a new identity for herself. This turns the story of Jane Eyre into a Bit of A Cinderella Story as we discover that Nico is out searching for Jane. Will Jane realise in time or will it be months too late ? Is Jane Moore destined for a happy ever after with her Mr Rathbone ?
Find out in this awesome rendition of Jane Eyre, and it is by far one of the best renditions I have read.
